Yolanda has over eight years
of demonstrated success in strengthening organizations.
Yolanda's work includes business plan, marketing plan, and
financial plan development; loan packaging; disadvantaged
business certifcation packaging (private, local, state, and
federal including SBA 8(a)); high level presentations;
curriculum development; program development and management;
and community outreach.
Experience
Yolanda has previous
experience as a business consultant with the North
Carolina Minority Business Enterprise Center (NC MBEC),
operated by the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic
Development (NCIMED). Additionally, she served as a small
business consultant while a student at UNC Kenan-Flagler's MBA
program to various local businesses. She is very passionate
about the success of entrepreneurs and believes in the impact
their success can have on an entire
community.
Education
Yolanda holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
from UNC-Chapel Hill's
Kenan-Flagler
Business
School with dual
concentrations in Marketing and Sustainable Enterprise, and a
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the
University of Missouri-Columbia. She is certified as an
Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) through the
National Development Council. Additionally, she has
completed executive training at Tuck School of
Business at Dartmouth College in Hanover,
NH.
Service
Yolanda is a 2009
graduate of Leadership North Carolina and is the immediate
past President for the Triangle Urban League Young
Professionals. She has been active with the Women's Business
Enterprise National Council Southeast Certification Committee,
UNC Kenan-Flagler Alumni Council, WOCC Economic Development
Ministry, National Black MBA Association - RDU chapter, and
the Consortium for Graduate Study in
Management.
